Reverse Buckling Disks
The Reverse Buckling disk represents the latest and best in rupture disk technology. BS&B offers the broadest selection of reverse buckling disks in the market. Since the disk is loaded in compression, it is able to resist operating pressure up to 100% of minimum burst pressure even under pressure cycling conditions.
It is also designed for non-fragmentation upon activation. Available burst pressures range from a few inches of water column to over 70,000 psig. Used with BS&B’s innovative pre-torqued safety head design, reverse buckling disks are recommended for safety relief valve isolation.

Forward Acting Disks
Forward acting (or conventional rupture disks) have been a mainstay in process applications since BS&B developed the first rupture disk in 1931. Forward acting disks are used in a wide variety of applications including standard process applications, railroad tank car, inter modal tank containers, and threaded and welded assemblies for a wide range of customer designed applications.
